Commercial Programs

Due to the popularity of our energy conservation program and increased applications across all sectors funding is limited and subject to availability. Incentives may be capped. Please do not rely on incentives to complete projects. Incentives are on a first-come, first-served basis until funding is exhausted.

We have energy efficiency incentives for custom commercial projects from HVAC replacement to kitchen upgrades. There are engineers available to answer questions regarding energy-saving projects.

Incentives are available based on energy savings. Contact Energy Services via email before beginning your project for pre-approval. Must have an Active account to receive an incentive.

Ducted Air-Source Heat Pumps
Requirements
  1. New equipment for upgrades must hold the following HSPF2/HSPF efficiencies (cooling capacity; BTU/H):
    1. <65,000 Split-System, 8.1 HSPF2 or 9.6 HSPF
    2. <65,000 Single Package: 7.0 HSPF2 or 8.3 HSPF
    3. >65,000 and <135,000: 3.5 COP
    4. >135,000 and <240,000: 3.4 COP
    5. >240,000: 3.4 COP
  2. AHRI Certificate
  3. Projects must be installed by a licensed and bonded contractor
  4. Equipment or contractor invoice showing equipment order or purchase date, along with the installed cost
  5. Completed Commercial Air-Source Heat Pump Information Form (PDF)
  6. Post-inspection
Heat Pump Water Heaters

Requirements

  1. Photo of existing electric storage water heater installed
  2. Visit BPA's HPWH Qualified Products List to make sure your new heat pump water heater qualifies for an incentive
    • Scroll down to Commercial Sector/Water heating, and click on "Heat Pump Water Heater Qualified Products List."
  3. Completed Commercial Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) Project Information Form (PDF)
  4. Invoice showing purchase date and model purchased
  5. Photo of newly installed heat pump water heater

Incentive Amounts

For Commercial Unitary HPWH: $2,000

For Consumer Unitary System:

  • Tier 3: Any size tank - $1,600
  • Tier 4: Any size tank - $1,800

For Split System:

  •  Any size tank - $2,200
Windows

Requirements

  1. Pre-inspection
  2. Completed Commercial Windows Project Information Form (PDF)
  3. Invoice that shows the purchase date, cost, and dimensions of each window
    • The dimensions must match what is listed on the PUD form.
  4. Sticker for each window showing that the U-value is 0.30 or less, or a spec sheet showing the dimensions and that U-value of each window is 0.30 or less
  5. Post-inspection

Incentive Amount

  • $18 per square foot of glass replaced.
Ductless Heat Pump

Requirements

  1. Non-Ducted must have a minimum of 10.4 HSPF2 or 11.0 HSPF, Ducted Heat Pump must have a minimum of 9.4 HSPF2 or 10.0 HSPF (efficiency level)
  2. AHRI certificate
  3. Equipment or contractor invoice showing equipment order or purchase date, along with the installed cost
  4. Completed Commercial Ductless Heat Pump (DHP) Project Information Form (PDF)
  5. Project must be installed by a licensed contractor
  6. Post-inspection

Retrofit - $1,000 per ton

Upgrade - $300 per ton

Insulation – Attic & Wall

Requirements

  1. Pre-inspection
  2. Completed Commercial Insulation Project Information Form (PDF)
  3. Invoice that shows purchase date, cost, and square footage purchased
    • The square footage must not be less than what's on the PUD form.
  4. Post-inspection

To R-38: $2.00/sq ft

To R-49: $2.10/sq ft

Wall
