Tree Replacement Program

The PUD routinely trims trees that pose hazards to overhead conductors or underground equipment.  This practice is very expensive for our ratepayers, so removal of undesirable trees is a key goal in the Okanogan County PUD's tree maintenance program.  In some cases the PUD must remove a tree to protect utility infrastructure.  As these trees are removed we invite homeowners to participate in our Tree Replacement Program, where customers receive a one-time replacement refund per tree.

Anyone who has a tree removed by the Asplundh crews or PUD crews qualifies for our Tree Replacement Program.  Specifics include:

Guidelines for Tree Replacement Program:

Landowner will be refunded a maximum of $100 per tree and $300 maximum per year.

Replacement Tree Planting Guidelines:

If replacement trees are planted near overhead or underground lines, the following guidelines must be met:

Request for Rebate:

Upon receiving the request, the Okanogan PUD will verify the form was signed and that the species of tree is acceptable. Once these conditions have been verified, a refund check will be issued to the landowner.
