Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Compact fluorescent bulbs have many benefits over "old-fashioned" incandescent bulbs.  They may cost more initially, but replacing 25% of your lights in high-use areas with fluorescents can save about 50% off your lighting energy bill.  CFL bulbs last 6 to 10 times longer than regular bulbs and pay for themselves through energy savings over their lifetime.  Compact fluorescent lamps use less energy, produce more lumens (light) and do not get as hot to the touch, making them safer as well as more cost effective.

Note: Although the Okanogan County PUD has in the past sold Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs, they will no longer be selling them, once the current supply runs out. They may be purchased from any one of several local merchants.
