Sustainable Natural Alternative Power

Okanogan County PUD introduces SNAP (Sustainable Natural Alternative Power), an innovative Green Power program that links small, local producers of solar and wind power with customers interested in supporting renewable energy.
PUD customers can sign up to buy locally produced solar and wind power and become SNAP purchasers by paying a little extra on their electric bills. SNAP is a customer choice. Your commitment and level of participation is completely up to you. The level at which you choose to participate will be billed monthly and included on your bill. You may sign up for a one year contract or make a one-time contribution. All funds contributed to SNAP go directly to the local producers who supply power into the PUD's electrical system for use by local customers. The SNAP producers are paid for the actual kilowatts their renewable energy systems generate. While it is impossible to track every electron through the miles of power lines to your home, you can be assured that your contribution goes to support the growth of renewable energy in our community.
Signing up is a SNAP! Just follow the link below to print a sign up form you can fill out and mail to the PUD's Conservation Office at PO Box 912, Okanogan, WA 98840. Questions regarding this SNAP program or any of the PUD's other conservation programs may be directed to Debra Peters at (509) 422-8427 or Steve Brown at (509) 422-8428.
